Travelling to Lednice

Set in the heart of Europe, Lednice is well accessible. Direct trains from Prague (300 km), Vienna (90 km), or Bratislava (80 km), where large international airports are located, will get you to a nearby town Břeclav, from which connecting buses go to Lednice. A small international airport is also located in Brno, less than 40 km northwards.

A shuttle from the Břeclav train station and from the Vienna airport will be arranged for the conference participants.

By car, you can reach the venue easily from Czech and Austrian highways. The conference hotels have a limited parking capacity that will be available to us, more parking spaces are available nearby.

Travelling from Břeclav

Břeclav, 9 km from Lednice, is located on an important train line and highway, and may be easily reached by train from all nearby towns with international airports. When most symposium participants will be arriving, a SymCla contact person will be present on the Břeclav train station, and arrange your transport to Lednice.
Direct buses connect Břeclav and Lednice but on the weekend and especially in unusual hours when the conference organizers are not there, a taxi might be the most convenient option.

Travelling from Prague

The best way to reach the region where the conference takes place is to take a direct train from the Prague main train station (“Hlavní nádraží”) to Břeclav (9 km from Lednice). The journey from Prague takes 3 hours 15 min, and the trains are frequent (departure times on the weekend: every hour between 5:39 and 15:39, then 17:39, 18:39 and 23:45). You may purchase the ticket on the station (cards are accepted) or in advance online. The 2nd class ticket costs 412 Czk (ca 15 Eur).

If you arrive to Prague by plane, getting to the main train station is easy: a shuttle bus “Airport Express” goes directly there every 30 minutes from both airport terminals. The ticket costs 60 CZK (ca 2.5 Eur). Of course, you may also take a taxi (which would cost ca 450 Czk). The same applies of course on the way back.

Travelling from Vienna

An easiest way to get to Lednice from Vienna is by train from Wien-Meidling to Břeclav (prices starting from 19 Eur; schedule and tickets available from Austrian Railway website). The Vienna Airport Lines buses (8 Eur single journey, 13 Eur return ticket) connect the airport and the Meidling train station (schedule here).

Many of you will probably use a conference shuttle that will get you from the airport directly to Lednice (price: 25 Eur). You will find an easy-to-recognize contact person for the SymCla shuttle at the meeting point in the Arrivals hall of the Vienna Airport (see map).

Expected shuttle departure times:
Saturday:
I: 12:30-13:00, II: 19:30-20:00
Sunday: I: 10:15-11:00, II: 12:00 – 12:30, III: 17:45 – 18:15, IV: 20:15 – 20:30
