we have major news – the venue of the Symposium of Cladocera has moved a few kilometers, straight into one of the most important landmarks of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape.
Just 12 km east of Mikulov lies Lednice with its famous Neo-Gothic chateau and beautiful vast park. A brand new multifunctional conference and education center is opening in the baroque Riding Hall of the chateau. This majestic building, built in the late 17th century and carefully renovated just now, will welcome talks and posters about water fleas, while the accommodation for tired cladocerologists is reserved in three adjacent hotels no more than 150 m away, a short walk through the chateau park.
This change of the venue will not only get us to the very heart of the local history but also allow us to reduce the overall costs (both the conference fee and the accommodation costs). However, you won’t miss the opportunity to explore the historical town of Mikulov, as this will be one of the destinations of the conference excursion.
We hope you will find this change as exciting as we do!
